As with conventional dryers, washer-dryers can operate by condensation or by evacuation. The drying by evacuation is done through a flexible duct connected to a vent hole in the wall or a window. Evacuation releases less moisture into the room, so it finds a home in a pantry or garage. The drying by condensation transforms the steam into water that is collected in a tub (this one must be emptied regularly) or evacuated through a pipe similar to that of your washing machine. It is more practical in apartments because it does not require a specific installation.
